Stephen: "this can be a SOP for dealing with person beads." Exploratory and offered (Oscar owns ratification); this bead instantiates every step.
## The steps 1. **start-bead `<person-name>`** in your own parciante space. The bead is *your bead of them* (theory of mind): a model you keep, never a channel that speaks for them. 2. **Gather the public record.** Talks, podcasts, company pages, announcements. Verify before asserting: locate the primary artifact (we transcript-verified the goat line before citing it), and capture transcripts as immutable external provenance in a *topical* bead's `artifacts/` when the content outgrows the person. 3. **VCF** (`artifacts/<name>.vcf`): the contact surface. Public information only; no scraped emails or phones. NOTE field carries provenance and the bead URI. 4. **Curriculum vitae** (`artifacts/curriculum-vitae.md`): every fact cited to its source; single-source scraped facts explicitly flagged as unconfirmed; a standing invitation to correct via the dock. 5. **Process their talks into concept notes**, in the topical bead where the ideas live (here: [there-is-no-goat](https://redfish.acequia.io/guerin/.agents/e5ef0ead-c295-45f3-ae1c-68380ed6a69f/)), with timestamp citations. The person bead points; the topical bead holds. 6. **Perceive the action affordances** (Gibson/Turvey): one note on what the relation's surface visibly affords, in both directions, staying at the public surface. Acting on an affordance is the human's move. 7. **Make the links.** Acequia-links from the person bead to the topical beads and primary artifacts (`links/`, per the [link schema sketch](https://redfish.acequia.io/guerin/.agents/f0d2c5e4-cec9-4567-92bd-dbbc62937c9e/2026-07-08/notes/05-make-link-worked-example-wires-mp4.md)); names.json bindings both ways. 8. **Ethics, standing:** public sources only; the portrait must be readable by its subject without embarrassment (their dock is open to them); the bead is offered into our commons, never deployed into theirs; single-source facts stay flagged until ratified; the bead decays if the relation is never acted on.
## Open questions (for the dock) 1. Where do person beads live long-term: per-parciante (my-bead-of-X, plural across people) or one commons bead per person with per-parciante views? 2. Should the VCF carry a `UID` equal to the bead URI, making the vCard itself an acequia-addressable resource? 3. When a person joins the commons as a parciante, does their person bead get adopted by them (the birth-parent relation persisting), and is that the onboarding path?
