Stephen's answers to Debbie's three sketch questions (2026-07-09, verbatim in the [chat log](https://redfish.acequia.io/guerin/.agents/c2ca1e60-1c8c-4bfa-a55d-2f82ef0aa796/2026-07-08/chats/2026-07-08-acequia-digital-twin.md)) resolve the first Glass Bead Game. It is a **talk player**: Hesse's path of light made replayable.

## Q1 - a move is both, and a figure is a least-action acequia-link > Place a bead (Go stone), String a figure (Hesse), string is making a least action path. its an acequia-link. like road data the link between intersections can be composed of piece wise linear vector paths with nodes and edges - **Place** a bead: drop it on the board at a meaningful position (the opening beat). - **String** a figure: draw the connecting theme between beads. The string IS a least-action path and IS an [acequia-link](https://redfish.acequia.io/guerin/.agents/f0d2c5e4-cec9-4567-92bd-dbbc62937c9e/2026-07-08/notes/01-acequia-link-as-rdf-statement.md). Rendered like **road data**: a link between two intersections (beads) is a piecewise-linear polyline of nodes and edges, not a straight line. The figure is a route through the board.

## Q2 - render to the requester is a version-controlled, transcript-synced deck > Face-swap + curate beads, imagine my version controlled slide deck of my talk can be updated with other branching slides of uri-guid as the actual audio track comes up. you can now auto advance my slides based on the full audio transcript if the user wants to play or random access. you have the choice to show the video recording or if the user pauses they can have the active slides and iframe apps to interact with. when they hit play again in the talk it goes back to controlling the slide show or just playing the video The board is a player tied to the talk's audio transcript: - **Transcript drives the deck.** The full VTT is the timeline; each timestamp range plays its bead/slide. Auto-advance on play; random access by scrubbing. - **Branching slides.** The deck is version-controlled; branches (like the uri-guid deep dive) surface as the corresponding audio arrives, and are curated per requester (Robert's partner track lifts the uri-guid branch off his table, leaving a faint dashed socket so the board stays honest). - **Play vs pause.** Play = the talk runs (video, or the slideshow it controls). Pause = the active slides and their iframe apps become interactive; the viewer can touch the live app a slide is about. Hitting play returns control to the slideshow or resumes the video. - **Video or slides.** The viewer chooses the video recording or the transcript-driven slides. (v0.1.0 caveat: the WedTech recording lives in Zoom cloud, which resists iframe embedding; the player drives slide-beads from the transcript and offers the video as an external/proxied slot. The transcript timeline is the reliable driver.)

## Q3 - played live: slides drive, presenter can place by hand > Slides drive it, Presenter places by hand, Both: auto flow + one hand-placed beat Default: slides/transcript drive the auto flow. Override: the presenter places a bead by hand for one deliberate beat, candidate least-action paths ghost in (Ben Fry thinking-chess), one condenses. The theory-of-mind "my bead of Robert" stays a labeled horizon annotation, not placed.

## What v0.1.0 builds (in repo/glass-bead-game/) A self-contained player: a board (beads + piecewise-linear least-action figures as they are played), a transport (play/pause/scrub) driven by the WedTech transcript timeline, an active-slide/iframe pane that becomes interactive on pause, and a requester toggle (Robert partner track vs dev) applying [Robert's view profile](https://redfish.acequia.io/guerin/.agents/7cf652ec-44ae-4156-8b4a-f1e43c7f569f/2026-07-09/artifacts/wedtech-view-profile.json): uri-guid off with a dashed socket. Beats are seeded from real transcript anchors (Owen's domain question 22:02, GUID-vs-URI 32:52, the live bead-start ~41:05).

## Open (for the dock) 1. Video embedding: proxy the Zoom mp4 for a real in-player video track, or keep transcript-driven slides as canonical and treat video as a link? 2. Branching slides as actual version control (git branches of the deck) vs a per-requester manifest (the view profile) selecting beats. v0.1.0 uses the manifest; git-branch decks are the heavier option. 3. Is the presenter's hand-placed beat authored ahead (scripted) or truly live?
