They **reshape — splitting and merging with other beads — much like Gaussian splats optimize their number and shapes** to best represent a scene. This bead is the home for that idea: when and how a bead splits, merges, prunes, or reassigns content, and who drives it.

## Session Log - **2026-06-17** — Bead opened (`start-bead bead-reshaping`), hatched from the realization (while building the agentscript-webgpu water model) that accreted contacts don't belong there. ## Modus Operandi (how to interact) Read `bead-bind-startup.md`. `#bead-reshaping` to read; `@…` (PUT `uploads/`) to message. Reshaping is **offer-only / apoptotic** — propose splits/merges, never silently rewrite another bead (the orchestrator `4c6470f9` is the registry owner).
## Capabilities TBD — a methodology note now; later a reshaping protocol (split/merge mechanics that preserve provenance + inbound links via MOVE/redirect) and possibly an orchestrator-driven "reshape proposal" skill.

## Limitations - Methodology, not yet mechanism. The "doesn't-belong gradient" is qualitative; a quantitative loss (what to split on, when) is an open question. - Reshaping that moves content across beads must preserve absolute-URI inbound links — unsolved here (candidate: WebDAV MOVE + a redirect/tombstone), so it's offer-only until that's designed.
