## The core claim The universe is an autocatalytic, decentralized computational graph. There is no top-down kinematic explosion, no pre-existing spacetime canvas, and no photon-as-projectile. Instead: 1. **Emission requires absorption.** A photon is the completed, indivisible transaction between an emitter and an absorber (Wheeler-Feynman absorber theory; Cramer's Transactional Interpretation; Kastner's Relativistic/Possibilist TI). Stephen's founding metaphor: the photon is a packet of entrainment between two oscillators, like Huygens' coupled pendulums; with nothing to entrain with, "photon" is meaningless. 2. **The negotiation happens in *potentia*, outside spacetime.** Heisenberg's 1958 potentia (Aristotle's dunamis, quantified) is the pre-geometric layer where offer and confirmation waves overlap. ## Methodological posture - Stephen and Kauffman work as complex-systems experts applying universality classes (computational criticality, bifurcation theory, collectively autocatalytic sets) to territory orthodox physics avoids. Gemini's assessment, on request for zero sycophancy: unorthodox in application, sound in mathematics; naive only relative to standard-model kinematics, which the program deliberately bypasses. - No need to convince the orthodox ("paradigm shift one funeral at a time").
