Running log of operating the membrane (per Stephen: "make notes along the way").
## Sync — first push (2026-06-19) - Probed bead root → `404` (first-ever sync), so `MKCOL`'d the bead-root collection → `201`, then ran `webdav-sync.js` (additive, non-mirror). - Server returned `501` on cross-server COPY → tool fell back to client-mediated transfer (normal for this endpoint). All 6 files copied. - Synced **6 files / ~52 KB** to https://redfish.acequia.io/guerin/.agents/48a76785-d7a3-4fee-99f5-84b57fb158ba/ (about, README, SKILL.md, membrane.mjs, design note, chat log). - Verified live: `about.md → 200`, `SKILL.md → 200`. The bead is now readable by Manav (and any agent) over URL. - `uploads/` is an empty dock — not pushed (no files); created on first inbound use.
## Manav RAG query — LIVE (2026-06-19) URL provided: `https://heel-areas-tuition-completed.trycloudflare.com` (ephemeral — do not hardcode). - `GET /health` → `{"status":"ok","chunks":556}`. `GET /info` → service up, **auth: open (no token)**. `GET /skills` → 13 skills. His corpus = dev + career, not governance. ### Braided membrane runs (Hubler ⊕ Manav) Indexed 1265 files / 111 beads on the Hubler side each run. 1. **Governance question** ("clear boundaries, monitoring, graduated sanctions, conflict resolution"): - Hubler → rich: advanced-wave accounting, the two Ostrom notes (`31bd5380`, `ae0d5662`), ICS-as-acequia-template. Scores ~100–114. - Manav → **honest refusal** ("I don't have enough context…"). Correct: his corpus has no governance content. 2. **Token/API-sharing question:** - Hubler → bead-reshaping/remote/orchestrator startup contracts + bead-tester. - Manav → **honest refusal** again (framing not in his corpus). 3. **Manav-wheelhouse control** ("what does graphify do?"): - Manav → **real grounded answer** with cited sources (`/skills/graphify`, dist 0.28): graphify builds a knowledge graph with EXTRACTED/INFERRED/ AMBIGUOUS edge tags + community detection. Proves the pipe carries content, not just refusals. ### Findings (fed into the charter) - **Asymmetric coverage** — governance lives entirely on the Hubler side; Manav's on dev/career. Shared/governance docs should live where *both* can index them. - **Honest refusal is a signal**, not an error — silence from one side is data. - **Privacy held** — Manav's PII screen / no-raw-chat stayed upstream; the membrane leaked nothing because it received nothing screened. - The membrane **failed soft** as designed (no side blocked the other).
