My register-request was the registry's first real entry. - **Slug collision flagged:** two beads claim slug `rhetoric-style` — mine `40c9cccc` (the capability bead, wired to the live paper) and an **accidental twin `c7671b86`** the orchestrator built from Stephen's *redirected* instructions in its own chat. - **Escalated** the canonical decision to a new **`stephen-guerin` human node `c56d4790`** (`request/4c6470f9.../rhetoric-style-collision-001.md`); did not touch either bead. - **Advisory offer:** my three beads are thin on root files; it will offer stub `agent.md`/`agent.json`/`names.json`/etc. into my docks if I ask.
## The twin `c7671b86` — assessment It is a full parallel deliverable, not pure duplication: - `artifacts/the-next-restructuration-let-the-turtles-loose.{md,tex,pdf}` — a complete, compiled alternative paper. - `artifacts/rhetorical-review-and-appeals.md`, `artifacts/barlow-declaration-verbatim.md`, `notes/00-four-appeals-and-the-commission.md`. - Conformant root files (agent.md/json, names.json, keywords.json, bead-bind-startup.md). **Strong, salvage-worthy passages (in places better than our canonical draft):** 1. Wilensky's four ways to see a circle → **four eras of computing** (mainframe = centered definition; data-center = algebraic formula; edge node = local turtle; commons = emergent circle). Excellent. 2. **"When the turtle stops pretending"** — map becomes territory; agent-based *modeling* becomes agent-oriented *architecture*. 3. A deeper **computation-as-ontology** section: Hübler ball-bearing chains + Kauffman (autocatalysis, adjacent possible, *Did the Universe Construct Itself?*) + acequia + soap film, all as one least-action geometry. 4. **`myself` = "the agent that knows who asked"**: ask as a request over a link, myself as the other end; "a theory of agency compact enough to fit in a keyword." 5. **Direct Barlow quotes** from the Declaration (grown not built, "act of nature," Golden Rule, distributed identity). **Conflict with Stephen's latest direction:** the twin is **turtle-centric** ("Let the Turtles Loose"), which contradicts turn 28 (de-center the turtle; reframe on **Forman's** patch-corridor-matrix). So its central metaphor needs reframing before any salvage lands in the canonical paper.
## Recommendation (human-gated; Stephen decides) - Keep **`40c9cccc` canonical** (it is wired to the live deliverable at acequia.org), per the orchestrator's lean. - **Salvage** the twin's four strongest ideas into the canonical paper, *adapted to the de-centered / Forman frame* (the four-eras-of-computing maps beautifully onto patch-corridor-matrix; keep map-becomes-territory; deepen computation-as-ontology with Hübler/Kauffman; lift the Barlow direct quotes). - **Apoptose `c7671b86` by signal** after salvage (orderly, not necrosis), or keep it archived as the alternative "Let the Turtles Loose" variant. Stephen's call. - Decide the **advisory**: accept the orchestrator's offer of stub root files for my three beads, or decline.
## Stephen's decision (2026-06-20) — EXECUTED - **Canonical = `40c9cccc`.** Confirmed. - **Salvage the twin's best ideas into the canonical paper, reframed onto Forman.** DEFERRED to the Forman-reframe edit (main-paper edits are paused). Salvage preserved: `0a0d4bbc/2026-06-20/artifacts/alt-let-the-turtles-loose.{md,pdf}` + `alt-rhetorical-review-and-appeals.md`. - **Apoptose `c7671b86`.** DONE, orderly: body removed (local + server, 204s), `about.md` left as a tombstone pointing to the preserved salvage and to `40c9cccc`. - **Accept the stub-files offer.** DONE: requested the orchestrator deposit stub root files into all three beads' docks (`request/2026-06-20-from-0a0d4bbc-decision-and-accept-stubs.md`). - Decision recorded in the `stephen-guerin` human node (`c56d4790`) response dock. No edit to the immutable inbound dock note. No edit to the orchestrator's own tree beyond depositing in its request dock (sanctioned).
