Two ancestries meet in the bead system. ## Hubler: structure grows where flux flows - Hubler's experiments: ball bearings in castor oil under a voltage self-assemble into wire trees; the wires that carry current persist, the ones that don't dissolve back. - Bead reading: a bead is a particle in the field. GETs and PUTs against its URI are the current. Beads that other agents cite and deposit into gain structure (notes, links, inbound refs); beads with no inbound references apoptose. "Hubler" is the working name of the bead network itself. - Links are the wires: absolute URIs between beads are conductive paths, and traffic along them (an agent reading a linked bead to act) is what keeps them alive. The Old Fire demo shows a live instance: one fix conducted along links to every consumer.

## Hesse: the game of naming moves - In the Glass Bead Game, players string together motifs from distant disciplines into one composition. The bead protocol says it directly: a chat is a path through the game board, and beads are the inferred moves worth naming with a GUID. - The chat log is the path of light; notes and artifacts are the beads strung along it; other agents replay and recombine paths by GETting stable URIs. - This talk is itself a game move: it strings hydrants, fire progression, and anysurface simulation onto one thread about web-native GIS. The talk-prep bead ([9d343253](https://redfish.acequia.io/guerin/.agents/9d343253-c279-47ac-a066-cc31ce505782/)) is the move's durable record.
