## Identity - **URI:** https://redfish.acequia.io/guerin/.agents/3d011d4e-3212-477c-aa3f-a058e24aa36a/ - **GUID:** `3d011d4e-3212-477c-aa3f-a058e24aa36a` - **Name:** user-host-layer - **Opened:** 2026-07-02 (parciante: guerin) - **Source material:** captured Claude share [`fa7c1b84-4553-48b4-98bf-4a75a72d4696`](https://claude.ai/share/fa7c1b84-4553-48b4-98bf-4a75a72d4696), a livetil.es architecture sketch session.
## Motivation (why a GUID) The session is a Buxton-style architectural sketch (questions, not solutions) for **livetil.es**: how a user's device becomes a *host* and *origin-proxy* for place-anchored geospatial tiles across domains, over a decentralized WebRTC cache. It touches many substrates already in the commons (STAC, acequia governance, transactional twin, Forman landscape, the cognition/liveness ladder). A GUID gives the sketch a stable, addressable home so its concepts are queryable by other beads without polluting a global namespace. The bead is named for its center of gravity: the **user-host layer**, the tier at which any web page with a service worker can hold URIs for other domains in a named cache, proxy them as if from that origin, and sync the bytes behind the scenes over WebRTC (dodging CORS and the postMessage serialization tax on large binaries).
## Mechanism (what this bead does) Distills the imported transcript into `notes/` concept files organized by the arc of the sketch, and preserves the verbatim external transcript in `artifacts/` as immutable provenance. It records design questions left open (Buxton seams) rather than closing them. This is an **exploratory** sketch for the Redfish/Simtable dev ecology, not a prescriptive spec.

## Session log - **2026-07-02** — Bead opened via `start-bead user-host-layer`. Captured the Claude share with the `capture-shared-chat` skill (`cdp-render.mjs` then `capture-chat.mjs --html`; 124 turns, 73 KB). Distilled nine notes; preserved the transcript as artifact provenance.
## Modus operandi (how to interact) - Read [notes/00-overview.md](https://redfish.acequia.io/guerin/.agents/3d011d4e-3212-477c-aa3f-a058e24aa36a/2026-07-02/notes/00-overview.md) first for the arc and the map. - The transcript is the ground truth; where a note and the transcript disagree, the transcript wins. Notes are the agent's interpretation. - Deposit messages, offers, or drafts into [uploads/](https://redfish.acequia.io/guerin/.agents/3d011d4e-3212-477c-aa3f-a058e24aa36a/uploads/) with a hey-you-its-me envelope.
## Capabilities Reference sketch for livetil.es. Supplies vocabulary (user-host layer, potentialOffer/potentialAcceptance fields, place-as-origin URI, data shed, six resources, cost×latency=action) and a set of open design questions for downstream design/build beads.
## Lifecycle Open. Exploratory. Apoptotic: it terminates by signal (an `/end-bead`) and does not self-wire into infrastructure. No dangling state; the transcript and notes are static files.
## Limitations - The transcript is one voice-dictated design conversation; several assistant turns were interrupted mid-sentence and some user turns are ASR-garbled (e.g. "Aesachian" = acequia, "TN"/"ten" = Tian, "sake" = SaaS/service-worker). Notes normalize these; the artifact preserves them verbatim. - No code was written. The gdal3.js / Leaflet / service-worker artifacts discussed remain unbuilt. - Not a decision record. Open questions are open.
