## Motivation (Why a GUID) A **living inventory + topology map of the Simtable office network**: the public static-IP block, what service/box answers on each IP, the LAN subnet and hosts, and the ingress design (Caddy header-routing to LAN machines). It exists because the office has **5 static public IPs** and a growing set of boxes (node.redfish.com, an Axis camera, the `my-claude-vscode` Caddy box, others TBD) that need to be mapped and fronted coherently — and because hosting moved here from the home port-forward setup. Distinct from the [home-port-forward hosting bead `7049c694`](https://redfish.acequia.io/guerin/.agents/7049c694-e45b-4116-a887-49e64885ac8e/about.md) (the *runbook* for hosting a domain): this bead is the **network's map and inventory** — what is where on the Simtable office network. The two cross-reference (7049c694's `04-office-lan-ingress.md` holds the Caddy ingress design; this bead holds the host/IP inventory it routes to).
## Mechanism (What this bead does) Holds: the static-IP inventory (per-IP: who answers on 80/443, cert identity, box role), the LAN topology (subnet, gateway, known hosts), probe results + their caveats, and the office-ingress routing table as it firms up. Updated as boxes are mapped/changed. Does NOT hold: secrets (those stay in `.credentials/`); the hosting runbook (that's `7049c694`).

## Session Log - **2026-06-14 — bead opened (CV `my-claude-vscode`, for Stephen).** Seeded the office-network inventory from an internal scan of the static block `50.243.20.250–.254` on 80/443: `.250` = node.redfish.com (Apache/Ubuntu, LE cert, up), `.251` = an Axis camera, `.252/.253/.254` no internal response (hairpin — external reachability unconfirmed; `.254` is the local Caddy box's egress). LAN `192.168.1.0/24`, gw `.1`, this box `.19`.

## Lifecycle - **Energization:** charged while the office network is being mapped, changed, or fronted. - **Apoptosis:** fades to reference once the inventory is stable; revives on any network change.
## Limitations - A **snapshot**: IP→box bindings and up/down states drift; every entry is dated and carries its probe vantage. Internal probes can't confirm external reachability (NAT hairpin).
