## Motivation (why a GUID) Stephen's framing (2026-06-17): georegistering an image — which becomes an **ortho-image** — is **just a different camera type, an orthophoto camera**. The constraints aren't only GCPs: we can use **UVs from other posed images** (camera poses as constraints), tying an image into the existing posed-image graph. A fresh GUID workshops this without polluting the global namespace, and binds the prior art + shared UX.
## Mechanism (what this bead does) Designs **image georegistration** reframed as **solving a camera** (the orthophoto / nadir-orthographic case) over a soft-constraint bundle: GCPs + cross-image UV tie-points + a KML `LatLonBox`/`LatLonQuad` prior, optionally DEM-backed for true orthorectification. Output = an ortho-image + an orthophoto-camera pose record bound to the catalog. References the established workflows (QGIS Georeferencer, Google Earth Image Overlay, ESRI Georeference) and reuses pose-ux-ui's interaction layer.
