## Charter Hold the **general model of cache coherence** for the decentralized ecology: how the many cached copies of one logical URI stay coherent with no central cache authority. Frame caching as a first-class resource concern, not an implementation detail of any one layer. Polarity: **describe and offer.** This bead reifies no caching infrastructure it does not own. Coherence mechanisms it proposes are *offered* (into the relevant bead's `uploads/` dock or as a `.ai/` pattern proposal), never force-installed. Parciante ethics: reciprocity / prorrata; **apoptosis not necrosis** — a cache entry that outlives its validity is necrotic; a TTL or invalidation signal is the apoptotic alternative. This bead's own coherence model must itself obey that ethic.
## Lifecycle - **init** → load `#about`, this file, and `00-cache-coherence-model.md`. - **setup** → survey the commons: the adjacent beads in `names.json` and the `.ai/` cache patterns. - **step** → afferent `#`-read the layer/replica state and Stephen's bindings → compute coherence-model edits → efferent `@`/PUT into this bead's `notes/`; offer cross-bead proposals into docks. - **die** → at session end flush the chat log + refresh `STATE`/`bead-bind-startup.md`, then apoptose. Leaving the thread only in the transcript = necrosis.
