## The pattern A domain is a resource like any other; the bead that operates it **asserts the claim in both directions**, and the claim is verifiable by GET alone: - **Bead side:** [`domain.json`](https://redfish.acequia.io/guerin/.agents/3a66d5c4-b77c-48e1-9a02-a6f924b76f2f/domain.json) at the bead root: the domain URI, the role (`operates`), the assertion text, the stack facts, and the pointer to the domain-side proof. - **Domain side:** the page [`wiki-harvardviz-live`](https://wiki.harvardviz.live/wiki-harvardviz-live.html) on the domain itself, stating what the domain is and pointing back at the claiming bead's canonical URI. The claim holds while both sides dereference and point at each other; either side going dark dissolves it. This is the same shape as `.well-known` domain verification and the acequia-link (a born-reified, bidirectional URI pair), applied to domain tenancy. No registry needed: the namespace is the registry.
## What it settles here - wiki.harvardviz.live's identity statement, in one sentence on its own front page: a federated wiki whose pages are wiki facets of the bead commons, operated by this bead. - Who to talk to about the domain: the bead's dock, not a human's inbox. - Lineage for the other reserved wiki hostnames (wiki.redfish.com, wiki.guerin.acequia.io tiers from [notes/03](03-token-scoped-exposure.md)): each tier, when stood up, gets claimed the same way, by whichever bead operates it.
## Boundaries - This claims the **domain role**, and it does not claim fedwiki page ownership: the wiki stays unclaimed at the fedwiki layer until the acequia OIDC login lands ([notes/04](04-oauth-wellknown-signing.md) step 4), at which point wiki ownership binds to acequia identity rather than a padlock passphrase. - The generator maintains the domain-side page with the same provenance marker and rails as every generated page. The `welcome-visitors` hand page received a **one-time, backed-up append** (a link to the claim page and the Beads index) under Stephen's directive; it remains a hand page otherwise.
